THE NATURE OF THE COMING STORM

In this lecture we discuss in more detail what happens as the crisis forces reforms that the bankrupt Western politicians failed to put through. Now you should go back to our Building a Sustainable Future paper on our website, as well as our World Future Outlook Report, to get an idea of what is real reform, or what is fake reform. As those papers clearly point out, the Obama reforms, while maybe well-intentioned, are just such a tiny fraction of what's needed. They verge on being useless. The most important point is that they aren't going to avoid a disaster. The chances of them avoiding a disaster are nil -zero. So we need to understand one very basic point, that for the reforms to work there has to be an enormous concentration of power, both on a national level and on an international level. In the case of Europe the idiotic structure of the EU needs to be drastically reformed, so that one tiny little nation can't derail everything that happened, sort of like the idiotic structure of our Articles of Confederation when we first tried to set up America. If you don't understand that, you really don't understand anything.

A NEED FOR INVESTMENT IN THE FUTURE

Now hopefully this will be done in a responsible manner that has at least some respect for human rights, but the longer this is postponed, the more likely - in fact the more certain - it is that the situation will bring to power tyrants who are going to make Hitler and Stalin look like nice guys. And also, you need to remember that democracy is hardly (particularly America) hardly has a very inspiring record in terms of committing war crimes, and so on and so forth. So the global problems: economic, environmental, are soluble. They're not hopeless. But in the case of (particularly in the case of America) they are completely hopeless without a radical change in policy. Now what we mean by radical change in policy, is America's going to have to start investing in the future. It can't have this this "borrow from tomorrow economy" that has basically run up the astronomically largest levels of international debt in history. And some fairytale thinkers like Paul Krugman seem to think we can run up even more. This is just silly and it's really just an example of how the elites are out of touch with reality, that ideas like that should be even taken seriously for five minutes by anybody. So Americas is going to have to shift over to paying down debt, eliminating things that are unsustainable.

LESSONS FROM HISTORY ABOUT DICTATORS

It’s very hard to see both on a national level and also, with the dire situation of America's states, how this can be done without some kind of either bankruptcy or super legal authority. In other words, the electing of a dictator if you will. Somebody who can rule by decree, make law by decree and not have one member of Congress screw everything up because the Senate had to get 60 votes to cut off debate and all this sort of nonsense. These are luxuries that just simply aren't going be tolerated and the longer they're tolerated, the more certain it is that the most ferocious sorts of dictators will come to power. We need to learn from Roman history, where all sorts of efforts to protect everybody's human rights and so on and so forth led to just increasing levels of slaughter, and it is very important to understand that this will lead to violence. In America we have large segments of the politically active population who are living in La-La Land. They have some vague idea that all they need to do is cut government waste and shrink the government and that's going to solve the problem. I mean this is like Krugman's delusions about running up more debt. This is a delusion on the right that is so absurd, I mean it's just an example of how deranged modern America is, that anybody would take this seriously.

A CRUMBLING EMPIRE

The other issue which is discussed in our report is that there has to be a restructuring of the Western imperialist system of rule on this planet. America's position is basically a giant study in hypocrisy and that's one of the reasons why America is so unpopular around the world. If America is so concerned about democracy, than America certainly ought to be leading the way to reform the UN Security Council. To have a Security Council that is made up of 80% white Europeans is an outrage. Why isn't India on the Security Council? But you see, America does not want to change that, because other than just giving lip service, to maybe vague ideas and more representation, because that is a source of American power. Now again, as the crisis kicks in this kind of fraud, this kind of dishonesty, this kind of immorality just isn't going to last. It's going to crumble and be blown away in the storm that is coming. But the more that people in America might wake up, the greater the chance. But it's very hard to see in light of the mass insanity of parts of the American public, the religious delusions of certain elements of the public, how this will be done in a democratic manner. And this will lead to a great deal of turmoil inside America.

A TWO BILLION POPULATION REDUCTION

Now as turmoil spreads, it's quite possible that the American system simply will just paralyze, and this is why we for a long time have discussed the importance of Europe getting its act together and providing an alternative source of leadership. Because Europe has social programs that work, it doesn't have the social chamber of horrors that makes up America, and so on. Europe has shown an awareness of global poverty, awareness of the issue of building a sound and global environmental situation and so on. So these things are going to have to be sorted out and it's definitely not going to be pleasant. Now, the odds are that the environmental situation is going to kick in so severely, in light of the lunacy of the last years of policy since 1945 - the total lunatic systems that were unleashed on the world in 1945 - that there's probably going to have to be a 2 billion person reduction in the world population. Now how that works out is going to be a very tricky situation. It's difficult to see how that works out peacefully and I don't think those 2 billion people are going to depart voluntarily. Some environmentalists try to figure out some way they would, but I have a suspicion they're not going to think that's a great idea.

A GROWING NEED FOR A CENTRALIZATION OF POWER

Also, the global environmental economic crisis is going to start killing large numbers of people. I mean, it is very important to understand that there is going to be a reduction in the world population, the failure of voluntary family planning and so on other. Western ideas don't worry about that failure because the current global economic system will serve as a Grim Reaper that will get things right from numbers. It's a question whether there's any logic to who's going to get killed and who isn't. The magic of the marketplace is going to turn into black magic where whole sections, particularly the poorest parts of the world, are simply going to be decimated in a way the world has not seen since the Black Death. So this is of course going to lead to a great deal more turmoil. Going back to the original point which we discussed, in this is going to lead to a centralization of power and of course more turmoil leads to more logic and rationale for the centralization of power. So the important point is that power be centralized in some kind of rational manner sooner rather than later and that some kind of international global justice be put in at a leadership level sooner rather than later. And America needs to stop promoting its fraud of claiming to be supporting democracy and try to force it system on everybody else in the world.

The American system of democracy: a person would have to be brain-dead to think that it's working here, and that it would be any kind of shining example and anybody in their right mind would want to love to copy. Furthermore, the move is going to be inevitably toward some kind of authoritarianism, and for America to be promoting a system of government where one senator can put a hold on something and screw everything up in the Congress for weeks on end, and some other people can filibuster and all this nonsense. Somebody else can file a lawsuit, all this nonsense, these are things that just simply cannot be tolerated in light of the scope of the disaster that's coming soon. Excuse me; in terms of the disasters that are coming - it's not just one. So there needs to be a much more sympathetic view towards authoritarian rule. This will be coming, this is inevitable. It's not something that we just need to save democracy. Democracy can only save itself if it gets its act together and starts dealing with the problems. As we've noted, the issue of some kind of crash landing here is a virtual certainty, so we already know that it's refused to do that and it is unknown whether there can be any kind of moderate internal reform - that's a question.

A RETURN TO ETERNAL VALUES OF AUTHORITARIAN RULE AS DEMOCRACY CRUMBLES

So to sum this thing up, the delusions of after the end of the Cold War, all this lunatic nonsense about how America...of how World History was over, and the American system was to create a wonderland of everybody being like America, and the American economic system was the greatest thing since sliced bread, and we ought have Wall Street run the world, and that this whole tidal wave of nonsense and even a nonsensical book by a TV personality Tom Brokaw tried to claim that America was the main force that won World War II, and that's just sort of an interesting aside. Russia lost 20 million people, America lost 300,000 on both fronts. Now which country do you think did the most to win World War II? I mean the point should be obvious, but it's not. One of the problems is the American Messianic Imperialism which we've seen in Iraq and which ended up promising to build a wonderland in Iraq of democracy, what it created was a criminal mass murder. One million Iraqi civilians were slaughtered, millions more fled for their lives; paradoxically the American invasion of Iraq led to the wholesale destruction of Iraq's Christian community. So again, that this is this is not something that anybody would want to copy and as this collapses the history is going to return to an eternal timescale and in crises in the past, totalitarianism is very much a part of world history and in crises there is a move towards totalitarianism -as simple as that. I mean democracy American-style parliamentary democracy - is kind of a freak if you look at the long-term view of history, hardly some ultimate creation of civilization and so on, so history is to go back to a more eternal timescale, but the process of going back to that is... the current system is so far away from anything that could be classified as reality. It has run up so many debts, particularly on the environmental level, that this is not likely to be a very calm and peaceful transition.

MORE INFORMATION ABOUT THE COMING CRISIS ON OUR WEBSITE

So this is what we need to look at and our website has a two excellent reports: World Future Outlook, Building a Sustainable Future. We also have our Signs of the Times page. We have a series of videos you should look at, our Future Visions page. These things help educate you. There's also important material on the ancient roots of totalitarianism, in terms of Chinese legalism which helped found the Han dynasty, Plato's theories. We could go on and on and we should probably have a lecture that discusses this in more detail, but this is explained and this is what the real future is going to be. The never land of the delusions of the 90's - of that we were going to have democracy - American-style democracy - was to create a wonderland for all and American-style capitalism was going to create a fairyland for all. These are not just idiocy, these ideas are criminal idiocy because they are leading towards the greatest catastrophe in history and these ideas also based on deception, because the economic inequality is at its highest level in history and these ideas are ideas that benefit the international elite. They certainly don't benefit the average person and so on. Obviously if you create a system that is going to kill 2 billion people, you couldn't say it's the best thing for the average person. So come to our website, read what is there and think about your role. Think about how you should participate in the crisis to come. There is no place to run. There is no place to hide. You as a citizen a leader of businessman whoever you are, you are going to have to make your decisions to what you are going to do as the crisis unfolds.
